Water Facts

Water is known as the "Universal Solvent" because of its ability to dissolve more material than any other liquid.

Only about three percent of the total water on Earth is fresh.

There’s a billboard in Peru that converts moisture from the air into drinkable water.

Even though water covers 70 % of the Earth’s surface, It constitutes only 0.02 % of the Earth’s entire mass.

There is an almost equal amount of water on earth now as there was at the time of dinosaurs. All thanks to the water cycle!

Ocean water freezes below zero degrees Celsius because the freezing point of water decreases as the amount of salt dissolved in it increases.

When water freezes, it expands by approximately 9 percent.

Water boils at 71 degrees Celsius at top of the Mt. Everest. This is due to a decrease in atmospheric pressure

Water never goes bad (when kept stored). The expiration date on bottled water is for the bottle.

Human bones are actually 30 percent water.
