Pluto has five known moons: Charon, Styx, Nix, Kerberos, and Hydra.
Pluto is slightly larger than Eris in size, but Eris is greater in mass. This is due to the disparity in their densities.
Pluto's orbit is highly eccentric. When it is closest to the sun, it is 4.4 billion kilometers away, and when it is farthest from the sun, it is 7.3 billion kilometers away.
Pluto is the largest and second most massive dwarf planet.
The location of Pluto was predicted by Percival Lowell - 15 years before its discovery.
In 2006, the International Astronomical Union reclassified Pluto as a dwarf planet.
Pluto is even smaller than the moons Ganymede, Titan, Callisto, Io, Europa, Triton, and the Earth’s moon.
Every 248 earth years, Pluto comes closer to the sun than Neptune for 20 years.
